Above photo is from my sale event at the Fringe Festival in 2007.

Have been selling books on both Winnipeg university campuses since about 1988. In
that time about 100,000 books have been  sold to many thousands of clients. I tend to
hear  the same questions over again, so below is a list of my FAQS.

WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR BOOKS FROM?
They are bought from all over the city of  Winnipeg at garage sales, estate sales, thrift
shops, rummage sales, charity book sales, and from people that contact me while I'm
selling. In the course of a year I search through at least 200,000 books in order to find
the best quality material for my clients, and end up buying about 15,000..

WHAT KIND OF BOOKS DO YOU HAVE?
My specialties are classics, literature, scholarly works, and unusual non-fiction. I also
handle  some science fiction, mysteries, horror, childrens, health, self help, cook books,
certain repair manuals, occult, comics, and some casual reading.

DO YOU HAVE A STORE? Do not have a store front location so far. My business
is a little bit different in that the books are brought to places where my clients are
located, for their convenience, rather than opening a store and hoping they will
come to me. University students tend to lead busy lives and bringing the books on
campus has been greatly appreciated.

DO YOU HAVE MORE BOOKS THAN WHAT YOU HAVE BROUGHT? Sure do. My
inventory contains about 35,000 books right now and is ever growing (I bring
between 800 to 1000 books at each event). If there is a book you are looking for
that you cannot find, please contact me, I may have it or may be able to find it.

DO YOU SELL BOOKS ON THE INTERNET? Yes, right now I have over 11,000 books
listed on line. My complete database is listed on four web sites. My primary site is
abebooks., but am also listed on Alibris, Biblio and Antiqbook.  The following link will
take you to my abebooks listings which are sorted by catalog.
.
BOOKMAN'S CATALOG LISTINGS ON ABEBOOKS

HOW MUCH ARE THE BOOKS? The books at my sale events are all priced in pencil on
the first inside page, or the first blank inside page. The prices will be less than 50% of
what they would cost new. My Internet stock is priced on each web site, with Alibris prices
being the highest since they add on a commission.

DO YOU BUY BOOKS? Yes, always looking for more stock that appeals to my clients.

WHAT DO YOU DO WITH BOOKS THAT DON'T SELL? Items that are ultimately
unsaleable are donated to charities or are sent out for paper recycling. My business
is committed to recycling all books I acquire.
